About Author Z. Michael Shadney
Z. Michael Shadney, aka Sharon L. Zavalanski, CPA, passed the CPA exam in December 1989. After a brief stint in corporate accounting, she set up her own practice helping small businesses and individuals navigate their tax issues. She had no idea what she was getting into.
For the last 33 + years, she has spent January 1 to April 15 going to bed at midnight, waking up before dawn, snapping at her kids, eating way too much fast food, and tripping over piles of dirty laundry, all to prepare her clients for her favorite day of the year – tax day!
